Funny of the Day

I know that my funny of the days should become funny of the year but every time something funny happens I always think, I HAVE to start funny of the day again.

A five year old girl's club...

This summer we have been having the best time with our friends.  We have participated in clubs and put on clubs of our own.  As well as bowling, lunch at the school, movies, kayaking and park day.  Kendal has two friends in our group and through mom chat I found out that they started a club.

This morning when I found her in our bed (grrrrr, her excuse, you left me asleep in the living room all by myself) I asked her about her club.

"Do you have a club with Alice and Sienna?"

"Yep, we even have a password."

"What is it?"

"I can't tell you."

"AHHHHHH... I CAN'T STAND IT....YOU HAVE TO TELL ME," screamed mom in a whiny voice.

"You could guess" said cute little curly headed girl.  "It starts with girl and ends with something disgusting that boys do."

"Hmmmm... Girls Rule and Boys Drool?"

"Yep, you got it!"

Still curious mom asks, "Do you have rules or a motto?"

"We have something that we say each time."

"What is it?"

"Well it changes every time because we forget."

"Oh, what about rules?"

Rule #1 No Boys
Rule #2 Don't leave each other
Rule #3 No laughing at each other
Rule #4 No being mean
I can't remember the rest......

I love kids!  I need to have one on one conversations with them more often.  There is so much to learn, laugh at and love about each of them.

TEENAGERS:  After reading this over my shoulder Matthew let all of his siblings know, "Do not have one on one conversations with mom or she will blog about it."  BLAHTY BLAH!

Hawaii Sea Life Park

Not quite Sea World but a good fun break from the water.  We had been doing so many water activities that our skin was becoming permanently wrinkled.  We needed to be hung out to dry in the sun, unfortunately it was very sunny sunand hot.

We watched shows, took in the sights and spent some quality time with the dolphins.

Kayaking in Hawaii

Our favorite by far!  What a fun experience to kayak on the ocean, we had practiced on lakes in the area for months to prepare ourselves.  We were physical and mentally ready for the trip but nothing can prepare you for the wonders and beauty of the ocean.

Our first day kayaking was at a fun little secret island I will post more about later.  We could kayak as much or as little as we pleased.  We kayaked quite a bit including a wee little race, Matthew and I lost to Spencer and MY LB.  It was a close race and I blame myself for the loss, I was rowing in the front where I couldn't see Matthew, I think he was taking LOTS of breaks.

Our second kayaking experience was on the North Shore, we kayaked out from a harbor into the ocean and went straight to a fresh water stream.  It was amazing that a place like this was connected to the big mighty ocean.  It was a fantastic adventure!  We had the most amazing and very large sea turtles swimming under and around us.  It was so incredible, the kids were awe struck and MY LB and I were jealous that they could experience something so wonderful at such a young age.  As it was our first time seeing such magnificent creatures so close up in their own habitat.

Excuse me while I interupt my HAWAII blogging.....

Last week we spent a much needed beach bum week in California.  My friend Alice lives in California and we try to get out and visit her once a year.  She was very accommodating of our request to do a lot of nothing.  Beach, swimming pool, blueberry picking, hanging out and a movie, perfect.

Just the kids and I got away this time and our favorite part was the beach (minus Kindle who hates wet sand).  We went to a beach in Carpenteria, if you swam out far enough there was a platform that you could jump off of into the dark ocean abyss.  The first day I swam out with Matthew and boy we were tired.  The second day I boogie boarded out with Maggie and Spencer, half way out Maggie decided that it was a bit creepy but I persuaded her to continue.  Once we got to the platform they both wanted to jump in but the ocean can be scary.  So we all joined hands and jumped in together, after that they jumped by themselves, again and again and again....  So much FUN!

Alice has two kids Olivia 9 and Adrian 8, Maggie and Olivia get along so well, it makes me so happy.  Not surprisingly Kendal had a blast with Adrian, she can play with anyone and I love that about her.  I hope that our kids will grow up great friends!
