Funny of the day

O.k. normally I would not share this great big piece of embarrassing information, however the events that surrounded it are to funny not to share. Yesterday we met dad at the park for dinner before he went to school for the evening. I brought my fantastic camera with the intention of taking pictures of my roller skaters- mind you.

I came up with this great idea to have Spencer (great idea??) take a picture of Jeremiah and I (embarrassing part) in our ALMOST well getting closer hot bods since we both had just lost 12 pounds each. Here are SOME of the pictures in order with commentary..........

Jeremiah: Where are you pointing the camera?
Me: Just smiling and posing

Jeremiah: There is no one over there.

Me: I am still smiling and posing

This is where it gets confusing

Jeremiah: NO ONE IS OVER THERE

Me: Point the camera more this way Spencer

I am not sure what is being said here but my point is this
the kid keeps clicking and laughing. These next two pictures
are not the same picture he was just clicking fast and laughing LOUD.

Jeremiah: Finally got a grasp on what really needed to be done
Me: I look as if I am finding humor in the whole escapade.

Jeremiah: Is having a difficult time moving on

Me: O.k. it's good just smile and pose

Jeremiah: Finally Posing

Me: I wonder if I can stick my chest out any farther

Spencer: Still clicking not stopping

Jeremiah: Still Posing (good man)

Me: I am going in!!

Jeremiah: Looking around for witnesses of what is about to happen

Me: I am still going in

Spencer: STILL CLICKING AND STILL LAUGING

Jeremiah: That kid has no FEAR

Me: You are going down BOY!

Spencer: Still clicking and laughing, wow she is getting really close.

Don't worry Spencer is still ALIVE !!

P.S. The pictures I posted did not even make up half of the actual amount taken

What will she become.......

I am a free spirited kind of gal with a large mouth, embarrassing laugh, opinionated tongue and witty humor. This often leads me to wonder...

What Will She Become....

There are so many things I want her to take from me and SO many more I want her to leave at the door with me as she journeys forward. One thing I ABSOLUTELY want to gift to her is FUN! I am all about the FUN!!! Life is so much more enjoyable when you are smiling and sometimes yes acting a little SILLY. I am talking about the good clean kind of FUN....

Rocking out to Primary Songs, dancing during the movie credits, running through the sprinklers, jumping in puddles.... you know the good clean kind of FUN.

So you can imagine my GLEE as my four year old princess, her on her bike and I on my skates, looks back at me and yells with excitement as we scurry down a hill. "Mom you should just SCREAM it feels so good to just SCREAM". And man did it, just to seal the deal I through my arms into the air and SCREAMED. Even my little Kendal was LAUGHING and SCREAMING.

You see... the reason that this makes me SO excited is this....... on any normal trip down a hill, roller coaster, dip in the road, or just a sad day......... I the MOM am usually the one to say, just SCREAM it feels so good to just SCREAM.

To me this is the good clean kind of FUN I hope my little Princess takes out the door with her when she goes.

That one Monday when school was out....

I believe the Monday I am speaking of was MLK and the kids had school off. It was such a beautiful day! I opened all of the windows and let in the fresh delightful air. It felt so nice that it seemed to me that SPRING was in the air. What do you do during the SPRING, clean right?

Oh man I felt like cleaning and I wanted my kiddos to FEEL it too. Right now I feel like screaming with joy thinking of that radiant feeling. Girls room clean check, Boys room check, Bathrooms check, I could have cleaned all day and believe it or not the kids were pretty helpful.
That's when my friend Michelle called to pull us out of our mystical cleaning land and beckon us to the outdoors. I was a bit hesitant but she is VERY hard to say no to. A picnic and playing at the park on a gorgeous day like this? BUT I WANT TO CLEAN!!

We went to the park and we had a blast. The kids got exercise and Michelle and I walked, talked and laughed. It was a great day to be outdoors. Thanks Michelle for beckoning us to the outdoors.

HELLO 2009

I figured if I say goodbye to one year I MUST say hello to the next.
Oh 2009 I have such high hopes for you. I feel sorry for you that you are having to follow 2008, it was a GREAT year. But don't worry 2009 I have set goals or RESOLUTIONS to help you out.
First, well of course first I am going to Pray more often "lots more often", during my short term in the Primary Presidency during 2008 we recited the Primary Theme every Sunday. Part of that theme is "I can pray to Heavenly Father anytime and anywhere", I can and this year I will!!
Second , and you will like this 2009, that nasty 2008 was a bit weighty on MY LB and me if you know what I mean (I think you do). Off comes the weight, eating better (LESS) and exercise (maybe... maybe... maybe.. I will do the Triathlon again this year).
Third, by forceful yet responsible demand from MY LB we will be taking our Financial Peace University knowledge to it's full EXTREME. This is Dave Ramsey in case you were wondering. This year we are going to try and kick step 1 and step 2 in the BUTT, yeah you heard it I said BUTT. In Dave Ramsey terms those credit cards are going DOWN, do you hear me? SAY YES!!
Fourth, Afterschooling is going to take our family to whole new level to greatness and you can count on that, FOR SURE!!
Last, I want to turn this year into the biggest family archiving year EVER, more journaling, get caught up on Windows movie maker, get the kids scrapbooks completed, and this is my personal FAVORITE..... scrap 12 pictures of each month with tell all qualities, my version of 12 of 12 a year of scrapbooking.
Not to bad right 2009? We can do that!! What!? Have I started yet? Um, well.... I have lost 10 pounds and MY LB has lost 9, Financial Peace Step 1's butt is almost kicked and I FINALLY picked a complete curriculum for Afterschooling. So yes definitely yes!
Hello 2009

You can't get sick of FUNNY of the days

While we were having Afterschooling yesterday Kendal found a use for her POUTY lips (with the help of dad of course)

I know she seems GROUCHY most of the time but she REALLY likes to make people laugh.

Did I forget to say Goodbye to 2008?

I don't think I have given 2008 the official GOODBYE that it TRULY deserves. So many good things happened in 2008 and I must tell........

Matthew was baptized.............

I became a CUB SCOUT mom and later a Committee Chairman.............

We visited Mickey at his house.........

I became "ME" again! I checked out for awhile, did you miss me?
NO, well my family did!!!..................

I redecorated AGAIN...........

I got a PHAT new camera and dabbled a bit in the
great big world of PHOTOGRAPHY...........

My baby turned 1 and shared her first cake with my mom who I LOVE.......
We said Goodbye to a beloved Prophet..........

I am now married to a SUPER INTENDANT............
There may have been some TWILIGHT craze....................

Spencer grew some TEETH..........

Strengthened Family Ties.............

We visited LEGO LAND.........

Of course new friends were made, Afterschooling began, blogging started, testimonies were strengthened, church callings were carried through, birthday candles were blown out, holidays were celebrated, a new school year began and of course we all learned valuable lessons on the way.
So GOODBYE 2008 it was great knowing you!!!

YEAH another Funny of the day

I love FUNNY OF THE DAYS!! Laughter is life's medicine, right?

Today I volunteered at Spencer's school and they were writing about things that they would do it they lived in the White House. I heard some kid's reading theirs to the teacher. "I would sleep all day", "I would stay up until 10:00 every night", "I would stay up and watch movies all night", "I would play all of the time". So at dinner I asked Spencer what he said he would do if he lived in the White House. And here is what he wrote, Spencer at his best.....................

"I would declare a Thumb War"
I LOVE THAT KID!!

Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho it's off to work the BABY goes

Our little one is a pretty busy girl. I know she HAS to put some thought into her busy little days. So here is what I picture is going through her little 16 month old mind in the early hours of the morning as she stares up at the ceiling waiting for morning to come.

I have an extra busy day ahead today, I lost so much time yesterday at that place the big people call church, not to mention the three hour nap I have to take from all the exhaustion of trying to get them to understand that I am too little to sit still. So, here I lie trying to decide where to begin. I think I will empty mom's drawers in the bathroom. I am pretty sure that box of the white sticks with cotton on both ends is in need of dumping. I think I have pooping in the tub on the calendar for today too but I did that three times last week so I will put it off for a couple more days. And I know I am close to finding that button on the T.V. that makes it turn off. Rearranging the DVD's will be quite difficult now that mom put that book basket in front of the doors. She should know by now that "I can't be stopped." Darn today is a no eating day, but I am so hungry. I guess I could take a few bites, that way the big people will smile and clap and then BOOM I will throw it on the floor. I can't forget to dump the dogs food into his water dish. I hope mom just opens the door and tells me to GO PLAY, that way I wont have to throw one of those crying fits, although I should get some fit throwing practice in today. I think today will be THE DAY, I know I can beat that record of finding 5 markers in one day and I just really feel like coloring EVERYTHING. Of course there is all of the HUGGING and KISSING and WAVING and LAUGHING and PEEK A BOOING and CLAPPING............. OH A BABY'S WORK IS JUST NEVER DONE.

KUDOS TO KENDAL FOR MAKING OUR DAYS FULL OF EXCITEMENT!!

WE LOVE YOU BABY!!

Funny of the day

If only we could see ourselves through their eyes......................

The kids got skates for Christmas and are getting pretty good. So today MY LB and I thought we would put on our Roller Blades and play a little road hockey with them (that's not the funny part, really quit laughing). Well it has been awhile and honestly a few pounds since we have been skating (still not funny). But there we were MY LB and Spencer against Me, Matthew and Maggie (I think I saw our neighbor laughing, he was jealous I am sure) so things were going great the score was tied and MY LB hits the ball it flies in the air he hits it with his hockey stick out of the air and into the goal. CHEATER, RIGHT? Well Spencer is beside himself and says in only a way that a little boy mesmerized by his dad could say "I think he learned that move in College!". O.K, mind you we were both TOTALLY embarrassed of our skating skill or lack of so to hear this had us seriously laughing. Oh if only we could see ourselves the way our DEAR SWEET KIDDOS SEE US, I bet we would look a little like this............

O.k. so I can't let the funny of the day go without adding this....

While we were playing road hockey Matthew was pretty quiet, concentrating on skating probably. Well these two girls walk by about his age and out of nowhere in his coolest loudest voice he says "Come on guys it's all about defense not offense!" We were like what? Of course the girls looked over, unfortunately his parents couldn't help laughing, I am still laughing right now.

Snow Day

We decided as a BLAST into the New Year and a conclusion to our Snow Unit in Afterschooling we would visit the SNOW. It was SNOW much fun!! The last time we went to the snow the kids were to young to enjoy it and cried the whole time. So we were EXTREMELY delighted that they LOVED the snow. Michelle's Clan came with us and even though we only had one tube and the snow was to frozen to have a snow ball fight we had FUN.

Here are some of the HIGHLIGHTS:

Walking in the snow was extremely eventful and could also be classified as EXERCISE.

This is just little Ol Maggie, you should see how far down the adults would go if they didn't walk light on their feet. AND under the snow was WATER, freezing water.

Kendal was not pleased with Snow, What is she pleased with?

Tubing was AWESOME!!

WELL EXCEPT FOR THIS........

Let me tell you a little about my friend Michelle, she and I are a little to much alike. We can get into quite a bit of trouble when we get together and for some reason when we get together we LAUGH a lot. So here is the play by play of our dramatic tubing experience:

"I can't hold it, hurry get on!"
"I am slipping, I can't hold it!"

"Let's just jump on and go!"

NOT A GOOD IDEA
The next thing I remember is flying down the hill losing our balance and the tube was gone but we were still going. I remember two things VERY clearly my back cracking and my face hitting the snow HARD. Now we finally stopped and of course I was in a ton of pain but all I wanted to do was laugh (because that's what we do) only I couldn't because the wind was knocked clear out of me. Oh my Heck, I haven't had the wind knocked out of me since High school basketball. Well I got my wind back and I was finally able to laugh. Yeah, it wasn't funny for long my back was killing me and my face was burning. Moral of the story..... don't go tubing with Michelle because it's not funny.

Here is a picture taken right after it happened (no action photos, darn it).

WE WEREN'T GOING DOWN LIKE THAT

It was a TOTALLY fun day and after the snow we went out for Pizza in Flagstaff. On our way home mom and dad decided to stop in Prescott Valley to visit Me-Ma and Pa-Pa. We didn't get home until midnight (another late night). But we had an AWESOME beginning to 2009.

A BRAND NEW YEAR!!

Recently we have been very blessed to come across some "OLD" friends that we haven't seen for years and of course what better way to ring in the "NEW" Year then with "OLD" friends. We had Michelle's Clan over for dinner and our annual trip to the Temple lights.

After that Ruth's Clan joined us for games and dessert. And of course at midnight there was a WHOLE bunch of noise making.
Waiting for the COUNT DOWN

HAPPY NEW YEAR
