The PROPOSAL
....Easter 1998....
MY LB looked amazing in his suit and I was wearing a new red dress with a bit of Asian flare. I knew he would be sitting on the stand with his String Base just waiting for me to enter the Chapel and I wanted to look "HOT". And I was right I did look hot, just kidding. I was right he was sitting on the stand smiling at me as I walked in (BIG SMILE). I sat down with his family who were being abnormally nice to me (should have been a clue). It was getting very close for the Glendale 28th Ward's Easter program to begin and that's when it happened. A brother so an so called me up to the stand and there was MY LB standing there with "RING" in hand. He got down on one knee and asked me to be his Eternal Companion. Of course I said yes, he was so charming and handsome. We kissed (over the pulpit I think) TEE-HEE! And than I went back to my seat and he went back to his. So there I sat with my sparkly ring and smile on my face making googly eyes with my FIANCEE from a FAR distance (it seemed far). I remember having a selfish moment of wanting all of the people to go away so I could have him all to myself. But than the music started to play and I watched his hands move across the strings (he is good with his hands) and all of the sudden I was PROUD that this talented man was going to be MY HUSBAND. It was so perfect! MY LB is so perfect!

14 months

FUNNY OF THE DAY

It's been awhile since we have had a FUNNY.
So what is this face?

She was making this face when I got her out of bed and I laughed, told her she was a crazy girl and smooched her all over. She made the face again at the breakfast table and all of my kiddos laughed with me. She was cracking us up!!

Every time I looked at her she was making this face. I asked her "What are you doing little silly?" She kept her mommy entertained all day. My silly little girl! When daddy came home he laughed at her silly little face. So what do you think that silly face means? All I could come up with is "Wow I didn't know my mouth could move like that. I wonder if I can do that again... and again... and again..."

By this time she knew she was being a cute little ham.

Wow MY LB is an amazing man. So here is the scenario as played out last night.........
2:00 am here comes a very SICK Maggie. Mom I think I need to throw up, that sweet girl waited until we were ALMOST to the porcelain. POOR GIRL!! And this is where MY LB comes in, for as long as I can remember he has always waken up with me and here is the KICKER. I take care of the kid and he takes care of the MESS. It doesn't matter if it was on the bed, the floor or in the bathroom he is on it. Oh and I can even remember one morning waking up and Spencer had been sick that night, I didn't even know. His sheets were in the dryer and there was NO sign of a mess. He took care of the MESS and the KID.
I LOVE MY LB!!!

8 T.V. Shows I love to watch
Myth-Busters, HGTV shows with any woodworking projects, New Yankee Workshop, This Old House, ... pretty much no time for T.V., but that's what I would watch if I did.

8 Things I do because I don't watch T.V.
Listen to good books, Watch the occasional movie with my Lover, Woodwork in the garage, Fix flats on the bikes, Get dirty and sweaty doing just about anything that can get me there, Crunch the budget to try and get ahead, Play the occasional video game with or without the kids, play with the kids.

8 Favorite Restaurants
Chipotle, Macayo's, Rubios, Tagliani's, Carver's, PF Chang's, Famous Dave's and El Paso, but really, I'll eat just about anywhere and like it.

8 Things that happened yesterday
I can't remember that long ago... Work, yummy dinner made by my lover, home blessing hour, read scriptures at the dinner table with the family, attended meetings most of the day, ate lunch with the boss, listened to Dave Ramsey talk about money, There had to be something else... Oh well, seven is a lucky number.

8 Things I am looking forward to
Being debt free (it is possible), Matthew learning another church song on the piano, going to Woodbadge training with my wife, coming home to my Lover and girls' warm welcome at the end of every day, Kendal full on walking, finishing my associates degree so I can start my bachelors, serving a mission with my wife, the last two weeks of the year off!

The right opportunity in another state, losing my baby weight, financial freedom, the time to do more woodworking, more woodworking tools, more racquetball time, Another promotion, Alaskan Cruise.

For as long as I can remember we have always called each other "LOVER". It has become awkward to call each other by our names. I know some of you have heard, laughed and commented on this term of endearment. So I have decided to stick with this "LOVER" word and refer to my Hubby and your Daddy as..............

Today MY LB left me love notes in my kitchen. I read them out loud to the kids and they said "Dad really loves you, Huh!" How sweet, of course it was immediately followed by "Where are our love notes". Maybe next time but for today they were all for "ME".

Blessed with Friends

I feel so blessed in my life to be surrounded by such great friends. Today I had a visit from a friend I haven't seen for four years. My friend Michelle came to visit with her sweet almost two year old son. We had such a great time catching up. I love that feeling like time never passed just picking up where we left off. Oh yeah and Kendal had some fun of her own too....

IT'S FALL?

Monday night we had the Boley's over for Family Home Evening. We had such a great time! We played Kick Ball, Boley's vs Mecham's, drank hot chocolate, read a story from the Friend Magazine, and roasted marshmallows.
O.k so maybe we jumped the gun a bit with all of the cold weather activities but the temperature dropped quite a bit and the idea of Fall got us all EXCITED.
SO HAPPY FALL EVERYONE!!

FAMILY OUT OF BALANCE

I took ALL of our wonderful family pictures and made a collage. This has always been a very intimidating thing for me to break free from my comfort zone of BALANCE. I have always loved the look of framed photo collages I just always thought I could never pull it off. But I did it, I took 11 framed photos (notice the odd number) and I put them randomly together to make a collage. I hope you like it (I do).


I love looking at these pictures every day! I really tried to capture the true character and all of the personalities of the people that make up our family . I think we are a lot like my picture collage, sure being balanced seems neater and looks nicer but its just not as much FUN. Having 3 girls and 3 boys is the only thing balanced about this family and that just the way we like it.

OH THAT MAGGIE!!

"Hey mom how about if we have show and tell again at preschool today so I can show my new clothes", said the fabulous Maggie.
"No, sorry. Why don't you just say look at my new outfit to your friends", said the not really understanding mommy.
"Oh, I know. How about if at circle time you say, Is that a new outfit you are wearing Maggie? Yeah! Yeah!", said the very serious Maggie.
So I did it and she acted surprised. I am not sure if she didn't think I would actually go through with it or if she is a really good actress. At any rate she beamed like a princess, got up and spun around twice, and said "Thank you Miss Christy", before returning to her seat.
OH THAT MAGGIE!!

I came home from my Scrap weekend to a clean home, happy kids, and my wonderful husband.
HE LOVES, HE LOVES ME MORE, HE LOVES ME, HE LOVES ME MORE, HE LOVES ME.....

SHOUT out to SPENCER

Lately Spencer has been all about his mom being BEAUTIFUL. In the morning, "Good morning beautiful mom." When I show up to volunteer in his class room, "My beautiful mom is here!" And when daddy says he is the luckiest man alive he says, "Yes you are because mom is the most beautiful woman." Oh, this is reminding me of a story about a Spencer birthday wish. On Spencer's third birthday much to my surprise (and everyone else's) Spencer wished for this, "I wish my mom was the prettiest mom." After making this wish he looked up at me with the proudest smile like he just did me a serious justice. Well I am not sure exactly what he was wishing for but I do know he was very consistent in his wishing as he had THREE birthday cakes that year and wished for the very same thing each time. He also smiled that proud little smile every time only the last time he looked up at me and said, "yep because you are the prettiest, right mom?" So, shout out to you Spencer for making me feel like THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MOM IN THE WORLD!!!
