This is my second family photo shoot, the beach being my first. It was so much fun to pick poses that matched our families personalities. I love it! Creating moments that will last FOREVER. I got a little crazy with the photo tools! I hope you love them as much as I do.

Payed to entertain, funny of the day

So Maggie goes downstairs to get markers and comes back with a bag full of money. "Look what I found in the art bucket". Of course I couldn't let her keep a bag full of money. She was pretty disappointed but racked her brain to come up with this idea, "O.k. mom so how about if I sing to you and you give me money?" Well who can argue with that. So here she comes to sit next me holding this hat out for money and singing away.

She started singing about how her mom is the BEST mom in the world. I just smiled and tossed money in the hat while she sang and sang. And when she was done she asked for a receipt. I am not sure how that works out but of course I gave her one. I love moments like this.

Family Relationships

On Monday for Family Home Evening I read a story from the Friend about two brothers that were devoted in their relationship. At the end of the story was a quote from Gordon B. Hinkley "Be loyal in your family relationships". To help the children better understand this message I related a couple of stories to them about times I have seen them be loyal to each other.
1. Spencer is always watching out for Maggie when they ride bikes. He always comes to her when she is crossing the street to make sure the road is clear and will come to her rescue if she ventures into the street.
2. On the way home from school one day Matthew fell on some rocks and hurt his leg pretty bad. Spencer said I will hurry and get mom and started to run away, this is a quote from Spencer "I tried to get you mom but Matthew pulled my backpack and said that he would be o.k. it's more important for us to stay together".
We love our children and their loyalty to one another. We also understand that this quote applies to us as Husband and Wife and parents as well. What a sweet message from a loving Prophet. We will be loyal!!

Mommy's Eyes

This was Spencer's first picture he took with his new camera. He was so excited, "I got a great picture of your eyes mom". I looked at the picture and couldn't help laughing. But now when I see the picture I just wonder how much Spencer could really see when he looked into those eyes.

Out of Africa Wild Animal Park

After we camped on Friday night with our Ward we ventured over to the Wildlife Animal Park. We were hoping for cooler weather but were disappointed to find that it was just as hot in this African wilderness as it is at home. So lots of sunscreen and water and we were ready to begin our adventure. The first thing we did was go to a Snake show, we learned about King Snakes and Anaconda's and we even got to pet them, I am not sure pet is the correct terminology for touching snakes but that's what the children were doing. After that we set off for our Serengeti Safari, it was a great adventure, the giraffe came right up to our safari bus and ate right out of the kids hands. It was an awesome sight! As soon as all of the food was licked out of every ones hands by the big grey tongue the driver put the bus in reverse and almost ran over the cutest baby zebra. We had to scream for the driver to stop, the zebra didn't run or anything these African animals seem pretty tame. As soon as that baby moved we went in reverse and spotted more zebra's it was an awesome site they came right up to the bus. The tour guide called over the speaker please do not try to feed or touch the precious zebra's or they will bite your fingers off, maybe they aren't as tame as I thought. African Safari's can be so dangerous, just as I thought this we ALMOST spotted a Lion family up a hill under a canopy behind a fence sleeping. I looked around to make sure the children were safe. We pulled up on some antelope, a camel, ostrich (behind a fence thank goodness, they scare me), and some other animal I can't remember the name of. What an adventure!! We took the Tram to the Tiger Splash show and watched crazy, I mean adventurous adults try to get a Tiger to chase them into a pool and hope that the Tiger would make a big splash on its way in. It was entertaining to say the least. After the show we took a walk around the park and checked out more of the animals. We all loved the White Wolves they were beautiful. When we returned for the last show the kids were beside themselves they were having such a good time...... Oh wait sorry that was the family next to us our children were crying to go home. I think they were just stunned from all of the excitement (just a side note once you visit Sea World and Disneyland you are ruined). The last show was so cute, it was two baby bears that once again crazy adults were trying to get to follow them into the water. One of the bears just kept trying to pull things out the filter and wasn't paying much attention to them. It was a wonderful day on the African plains but we were ready to venture home to our own SAFE habitat.

I love my Webkinz

I love my Webkinz and they are my best stuffed animals. My first Webkinz was named Web and he is a dog. My second and third Webkinz are named Googles the monkey and Turtle Man the turtle. My Grandma Lola took me to lunch and baught them for me for my sixth birthday. My last Webkinz is named Puddle he is a dog. My favorite game on Webkinz on the computer is called the Wheel of Wow, it gives you free money that's why I like it. My favorite thing in Puddles room is his frosty bed a cold bed. I like my Webkinz because their cute and cuddly.

POOP SCOOPING the Funny of the Day

You will thank me for not having pictures!!
We just got home from our Awesome camping trip, I threw the girls in the tub and listened to the boys cry about how they never get to take baths. So I gave in and now I had two bath tubs running. Well Spencer came in my room in a crazy fit because there was paper in his bath tub. So I went to fetch the paper out and found that it was toilet paper and it was little pieces all over. I had to drain the tub. So while that was going on I went back to check on the girls and there was my pretty little baby red faced and grunting. Of course I FREAKED out "Maggie get out!" Seriously she stopped to collect all of her toys and get all of her things in order before she got out. And there it was not one but two FLOATERS! UGGHH, so I pull Kendal out and put her on the ground. How many of you know Spencer? Well he is out of control laughing right now and it is making me laugh even though I really don't feel like laughing. And than he laughs harder and says she is still pooping, grrrr. At this point dad hears all of Spencer's commotion and wants to know what's going on. In the mean time I tell Matthew to go get me two grocery bags and I guess I will poop scoop. And this is it that evil little brother Spencer says in his most I am a little devil voice "I seem to remember that poop scooping is Matthew's chore" I can not help it that kid CRACKS me up, Matthew is beside himself asking me if he really has to do it. And dad arrives to save the day. I love my family!!!

My Clear Creek Photography

Ward Camp Out

Camp Happy!! We love to camp, I don't know why we don't do it more often. We had the best time with our ward family. The camp out was at Clear Creek, it is a beautiful place with lots of bugs and critters. The kids had a blast playing with friends, exploring, catching lizards and bugs, eating and getting dirty. I love to see them bond with such wonderful children (I know they are wonderful because I get to spend every Sunday with them in Primary) and build lasting friendships. They weren't the only ones that bonded, Jeremiah and I had a great time chatting, laughing and sharing stories with our Ward friends (after the kids went down). This was a fantastic experience and an answer to our prayers. In Family Home Evening we pick three things that we want to pray for each week and it just so happens that we were praying to get to know our ward family better. A testimony to us that Heavenly Fathers hears and answers our prayers. In the morning we took a short walk to the creek. It was so peaceful and the kids had a BLAST (especially Kendal, Maggie and Spencer. Matthew kept feeling spiders crawling on him.) So, being that we are the Mecham's well the Mecham family with Christy in it, I am sure your going so whats "THE STORY" (there is always a story with me) and I am not letting you down. We get back into our tent at about 11:45pm after visiting with friends and "STINKY", Kendal was ripe. So what would you do? Wake her, she did have a bit of a rash. Or let her sleep? Now I have never had problems in the past so I went ahead and changed her diaper. AHHHHHH!!!! She was up ALL night. She was laughing, talking (words we didn't even know that she could say), making all kinds of noise and the only person she wanted was MOM. Now I was feeling like group camping is for the birds because everyone was so close I know they could hear this little girl ALL night. So I played, I rocked, I cried (not really), and I decided next time she SLEEPS IN IT!! Well since every story needs a happy ending here it is. The ward camp out was a huge success and we love our ward family!

The days fly by

I can't believe it has been a week since I have posted. I guess we aren't as exciting as we thought we were. Jeremiah had A LOT of kid time at the end of last week as mom was BUSY. I went to the Temple Thursday night with the Relief Society. It was so wonderful, I love the Temple! Friday was our big much anticipated Breaking Dawn Book Discussion. It was a good time and we decided to start a Book Club. I am very excited about this. And Saturday morning (after dad had his raquetball break) mom went to the Ward baptisms. This is the best part of my calling. I am the Second Counselor in the Primary Presidency and I am assigned to attend all baptisms and sometimes I get to speak. I love watching the children as they come out of the waters of baptism. It rejuvenates me and my desire to keep my baptismal covenants. So dad how was it with mom gone so much? And I quote "It wasn't bad". We did do our Saturday chores (I am still FLYING) and rewarded our job well done with ICE CREAM at Dairy Queen. Sunday a new Bishopric was called. We are grateful to Bishop Smith for his service! I enjoyed listening to our new Bishop, Bishop Taylor talk to the Primary children on Sunday. The Spirit was very strong as he told all of the Primary children how much he loved them and that Heavenly Father wants him to get to know all of them by name. For Family Home Evening on Monday we talked about Christ visiting the Nephites and blessing all of the children. This confirmed my feelings and the Spirit I felt when Bishop Taylor spoke to the Primary children. So it was a good week!!! I even took a picture of our little Princess hiding out in the dog kennel while mommy was FLYING (cleaning) in the kitchen.

The funny of the day

So, I am upstairs this morning and I can hear my boys down stairs laughing that trouble causing laugh. You know the one!! So I venture downstairs to see what they are doing and they are playing with their baby sisters leapfrog toy. Innocent right? Oh no, they had it on the letter sounds setting and well this is what the cute little caterpillar toy was saying (just make the short letter sounds of each letter) f-o-r-t. Now in are house fart is a bad word so this made it even funnier to them and made them nervous when they saw me coming. So when I said what are you doing? They just looked up at me with big eyes. But I pulled it out of them and just about died laughing. If you have this toy or any letter sounding toy at home you have to try this it is so funny. When Jeremiah came home for lunch I had to show him what his sons came up with and seriously you just can't help laughing.
f-o-r-t!!! And trust me after they were all off to school I had some fun of my own you can really get that caterpillar to talk. So that is my funny of the day!!
