Family Picture Time Again

When our kids were babies it felt like we had to do family pictures every 6 months to a year to keep up with their growing.  Now that we have a youth we feel like we need to take family pictures every 6 months to a year just to keep up with his growing.

I love our family and I love how everyone is growing and becoming!  I thank the Lord each day for our health, strength and desire for knowledge.

WATCH....WATCH....WATCH!!!

I remember being young and dressing up, dancing around, walking the red carpet, posing and playing with make-up.  However, my memories are of me hiding in my room hoping nobody would see me and make fun of me.  I was always worried that my brothers or worse my sister would walk in and see me all dressed up playing pretend and laugh.  I probably carried this fear because I knew if the time came and it was them and not me, I would share the same gesture of making fun and laughing.

I was extremely surprised when my girls invited me and their brothers into their room for their fashion/dance show.  The entire time I sat there and watched I just kept thinking, I would never have done this.  The more I thought about it the more I realized how loved and blessed my children are.  We are home where being yourself is celebrated, pretending is encouraged and when we laugh it is usually together not at each other. 

Of course I hold no ill feeling towards my siblings, (for that)! Smile, smile, wink, wink!

I love to see the Temple, especially in Hawaii

My final Hawaiian Post, so bitter sweet!

On Sunday we made a trip to the LDS Laie Temple, it was so quiet and peaceful.  We ate our dinner on the grass and enjoyed the beautiful sights.  We love to sing I Love To See the Temple whenever we first view an LDS Temple, it will forever be one of my favorite family traditions.  The Temple is a holy place where we can be together.......

 

 

And for Matthew who is set on spending his college days at BYU Hawaii we stopped for a photo opportunity just for him.

Kualoa Ranch Oahu

We spent two separate days at the ranch, the first day we took a jungle tour and the second day we went on a secret island adventure. 

The jungle expedition was awesome and so informative.  Our driver was a botanist and had some very interesting facts about the island of Oahu.  Plus the jeep was super cool and the views were breath taking.

 

Even the Kualoa Ranch grounds had fun to offer with a petting zoo, horse barn and horse statues.

 

The Secret Island was awesome, you take a bus and then a boat to an island that is owned by Kualoa Ranch and lucky for us we went on a slow day and there were only two other couples at the beach with us.  We had unlimited use of kayaks, standing paddle boards, snorkeling gear and other fun amenities.  We had a fantastic time!  We also went on a boat to explore the ocean around the island, very memorable trip.  Yeah, you could call it paradise and be absolutely correct.
