Home-Cool

Pretty funny don't you think?
HOME-COOL
I made it up!

Want to know something not funny?
I found out today that I am not
HOME-COOL.

Can you imagine "ME", not being home-cool?
WHATEVER!

Let me explain, today the boys begged me to take them to the skate park. I being the awesome learning coach that I am said, "Only if you bust butt and get all of your morning work done by 10:30." So they did and we did.

When we got to the park I was so excited to see lots of kids there age skateboarding and playing. I got out of the car and immediately walked over to chat with some moms (I am not shy). I asked them if they were home schoolers and they said, "yes." I asked if they come to the skate park every Monday and they said, "no." I asked if they came often and they said, "no." I shouldn't say they because only one lady was giving passive asnswers while the other had already wrote me off as an intruder and gave me "THE LOOK".

After a couple more questions I realized they wanted to be left alone so I took my blanket over to our "spot" and began visiting with two other home school moms who after a very short visit decided to go sit with the other two moms. I watched while they talked and laughed (to bad they will never know how funny I am).

MY LB showed up to have lunch with us and I gave him the bad news, "I'm not home-cool." I told him my story to which he replied, "It's because you are so attractive." WHAT? Seriously!

Eventually I decided to agree with his theory seeing as though it was much more appealing than the ones I was making up in my head.

There you have it the story of how I am just too
"attractive" to be "home-cool".

Thinking inside the picture.

A picture within a picture!
I think it is so much fun to go through past pictures. Every once in awhile something new sticks out and VIOLA, you have an entirely knew photo.

Miserable Monday #28

"I should've, " I could've," "I would've,"
"Why didn't I," "If only."

I was reading some past Miserable Monday's and I decided I should keep this one short and witty. Nothing to deep or emotionally involved. Which should be easy since I have virtually no regrets.... I told you I would be funny.

Quote Johnbytheway, " Miserable people never look where they are going because they can't take their eyes off where they have been." -end quote Luckily I haven't been anywhere to exciting(what you don't know can't hurt me).

As I see it there are three kinds of people, 1. The type that you tell, "Don't do it," and they don't 2. The type that see someone else do it and say, "No way am I doing that!" 3. The type that just have to DO IT and find out for themselves. I am number 3 through and through.

Do I have regrets, YES! Do I peak at them every once in awhile, YES. Do I hate them, YES. Do I wish they would vanish, YES. Do I wish I could stop making regrets, YES. Do I wish I was perfect, NO! That would be boring.

Quote Johnbetheway, "Happy people turn every regret into a resolve." -end quote
What goody goodys' !

Frozen Dinners

I am finally getting around to posting about my frozen dinner find. I wanted to provide more details but unfortunately I have a life (sometimes I forget). So in a nut shell here are my findings.

Smart Ones (on sale) make a great meal. I bought three each of four different types of entrees and added meat to make it a meal. To the Ravioli's and Pasta Primavera I added frozen Tyson chicken strips and to the Santa Fe meal and Cheesy Marinara I added lean ground turkey. They were all very yummy! The portion sizes were about 1 cup, not really filling so you will want to add a good vegetable and maybe a fruit for the sides. With the Santa Fe meal we had a couple of corn tortillas. Looking back at my tracker each meal including sides was about 6 to 8 points.

This is one of my favorites, so yummy. I bought Tyson already cooked grilled breasts (the ones I bought were hickory), so easy. I just heated them according to directions and served it over rice with these two great marinades I picked up at Sam's Club. One is called Mr. Yoshida's marinade and the other I can't remember the name but it is sweet and tangy (sweet and sour sauce only yummier). I added a vegetable (usually green beans) and some seasonal fruit (apple slices or oranges). My tracker said that with sides it was about an 8 point meal.

This one is my absolute favorite (we still have some in the freezer). I bought this Tilapia at Sam's Club and it is so good. Once again I served it over rice drizzled with sauce (sweet and tangy was my favorite). On the side we had broccoli and pineapple chunks. The fish fillets are 5 points each with sides my tracker says it was about a 7 point meal. The kids ate fish sticks.

There were some other things that we tried but these meals had the least amount of points and they were the yummiest. The frozen dinners definitely freed up more time to spend our afternoons outside chilling with the neighbors. However, the number 8 (meaning 8 points) may seem small to some but when you follow Weight Watchers the number 8 takes on an entire new meaning. An 8 point dinner put evening snack on the back burner for another day and I need my Skinny Cow.

All in all the frozen dinners were a success, everyone enjoyed them. It gave me more time for other things and no dinner time rush. I will definitely be adding a couple frozen dinners to my weekly dinner menu.

LOW POINT QUICK CASSEROLE COOKING IS NEXT!!

I am going to try to make two at a time one for dinner and one to freeze.
